HALIFAX - Halifax RCMP are investigating a serious single-vehicle crash in Enfield.

Police say emergency responders arrived on scene of a reported single-vehicle crash on Highway 102 between exits 6 and 7 at around 11 a.m. on Friday.

They say a Toyota Rav-4 was travelling north when it veered off the road and into a ditch.

The driver and lone occupant of the car, a 20-year-old man from Halifax, suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital.

An RCMP collision reconstructionist attended the scene and the investigation is ongoing.

The highway was closed for several hours but it has since reopened.
