NEW YORK (AP) 鈥 Al Roker is recovering after he was hospitalized last week for blood clots, the NBC 鈥淭oday" show weather anchor said Friday.
鈥淪o many of you have been thoughtfully asking where I鈥檝e been. Last week I was admitted to the hospital with a blood clot in my leg which sent some clots into my lungs," Roker, 68, announced on
鈥淎fter some medical whack-a-mole, I am so fortunate to be getting terrific medical care and on the way to recovery," he wrote. 鈥淭hanks for all the well wishes and prayers and hope to see you soon. Have a great weekend, everyone.鈥
His co-anchors wished him well online and on the show.

鈥淗e鈥檚 in good spirits, we鈥檝e all talked to him,鈥 Savannah Guthrie said on Friday's show.
Roker's wife, ABC News correspondent Deborah Roberts, posted that she was grateful for 鈥渢he top notch medical care and prayer warriors from every corner."
鈥淲e love you dearly sweet Al and can鈥檛 wait to get you home," Roberts wrote, adding heart emojis.
It wasn't immediately announced whether Roker would be able to co-host NBC's coverage of the Macy鈥檚 Thanksgiving Day Parade, which he has done since 1995.
Roker also was off the air in 2020 for two weeks after he underwent successful surgery for prostate cancer.
Roker said he with his diagnosis to highlight the risk of prostate cancer, especially among Black men.
