Images are circulating on social media claiming that the Tim Hortons worker in the images was fired because she asked why the company was hiring Indians. This is false. The images posted earlier this month were taken from a TikTok video posted two years ago that makes no mention of the firing claim.

Viral social media posts on X and TikTok are claiming that a worker was fired from her job at restaurant franchise Tim Hortons because she inquired about the company's hiring practices.

The posts all show a blond woman in a Tim Hortons uniform.

One Oct. 4 on X by a self-described 鈥渕ass deportation enthusiast鈥 calls for boycotting "anti-Canadian traitors" at Tim Hortons.

Several captions plastered on the image of the worker read 鈥渨as a loyal Tim Hortons worker for 4 years," followed by, 鈥渙ut of curiosity asked my manager why we only hire 鈥業ndians鈥欌nd I get fired.鈥

The post received 2.9 million views and 38,000 likes as of publication. It was also reposted more than 4,000 times.

Rating: False

The post is part of a thread of images not involving the blond woman. The subsequent images allege unhygienic practices at the chain. One of a mouldy sandwich was taken from a video posted in 2022, again with no relationship to the blond woman or hiring practices.

The captioned images in the thread were taken from the TikTok account @amyia.davis4 that has since been made .

Also on Oct. 4, a on X posted another image of the blond woman in uniform with captions that read "just got fired from Tim Hortons after 4 years鈥 followed by 鈥渏ust because I called out management for only hiring 鈥業ndians鈥欌︹

This post received more than 4.6 million views and 58,000 likes as of publication. It was shared close to 11,000 times.

On Oct. 3., another posted an earlier TikTok slide show variation of the thread, naming the blond Tim Hortons worker "Amiya Davis."

The original video

The claims about "Amiya Davis" in the images are false.

The video stills posted to X and TikTok were cut from a video posted to the social media platform on September 2022 by a woman who says she worked at Tim Hortons at the time.

In the original video, which included the description "," the woman 鈥 and author of the video 鈥 appears on screen in a Tim Hortons uniform. In the first shot she lip syncs to an audio clip from the drama series "Euphoria," saying, "I just don't really plan on being here that long."

In the next shot, she appears sitting on a crate and looks at her watch as the words "10 months later" appear on screen.

The video is pinned to the creator's TikTok page and has received more than 18,000 views 鈥 many views fewer than the viral posts using her image.

In the comments section, the creator of the video posted in November 2022 that she quit her position at the restaurant.

Last week, the creator posted a comment saying the video was taken while she was in high school and she is now a hair stylist.

Another comment posted in the comments section warned the creator that her image is being used by others.

The creator responded to the warning, saying, "this is the original video, whatever you鈥檙e seeing on other platforms is in fact NOT ME."

香港六合彩挂牌资料 reached out to the creator of the 2022 video but did not get a response.

Uber Eats credit

One of the images included in the Oct. 3 makes reference to an Uber Eats $750 credit and a site called , which does not appear to be connected with Uber Eats.

"They barely give us breaks anymore due to the huge increase in UberEats orders," the slide reads, followed by, "ever since UberEats launched ." It goes on to say, "everyone has been ordering Timmies with their $750 review credit."

When 香港六合彩挂牌资料 attempted to visit the site, a browser alert warning of a security risk was displayed.

On its Uber warns users to stay clear of phishing scams or links that mimic Uber Eats.

The allegations of discriminatory hiring practices have been taken seriously in India by at least one , which centred the claims amid "ongoing discussions about immigration in Canada," adding that they have "ignited considerable debate on social media."
