BA Global Studies

LIU Global’s B.A. in Global Studies examines the world’s interconnected political, economic, and cultural systems. With three concentrations—Entrepreneurship, International Relations, and Arts & Communication—the program equips students to develop impactful solutions on local to global scales.

Program Locations Include:

Through classroom study and hands-on experiences—such as site visits, service learning, and internships—students apply their knowledge in real-world contexts, building skills in empathy, adaptability, and collaborative problem-solving.

The LIU Global Minor in Arts and Communications provides students with essential skills in communication, preparing them to navigate the global media landscape.

  • Core Courses introduce strategic communication fundamentals and contemporary media platforms.
  • Electives explore global fine art and popular culture, enhancing students’ ability to incorporate diverse aesthetic traditions into communication strategies.
  • Students learn to integrate various media techniques to effectively engage in the world’s interconnected communication networks.

Students can complete one or more minors at LIU Global, each requiring a minimum of 15 credits from approved courses numbered 100 or above.


The LIU Global Minor in Entrepreneurship equips students with the skills and knowledge to create sustainable ventures with a social impact.

  • Learn entrepreneurial design thinking to plan and execute ventures that address social needs.
  • Gain practical experience through fieldwork, projects, and internships around the world.
  • Explore how entrepreneurs use business principles to channel market forces for positive change.
  • Develop the skills to become a change agent in both professional and community settings.

The LIU Global Minor in International Relations introduces students to the foundations and contemporary dynamics of the global political system.

  • Understand the historical development of the nation-state system, focusing on Europe and its Empires.
  • Study global governance institutions established after World War II and their role in addressing global challenges.
  • Analyze contemporary stresses on global governance and the complexities of understanding world events.
  • Explore regional and national political cultures to deepen understanding of global political interactions.
