Services offered at the Center for Healthy Living include individual counseling, group counseling, and health and wellness campus programs. Students may also be referred to an off-campus professional for long-term care. The Staff at the Center for Healthy Living provides support by helping students to:

  • Foster self-esteem
  • Understand gender identity
  • Resolve conflict
  • Improve communication skills
  • Cope with grief and loss
  • Express anger appropriately

Resources for Students in Clinical Placements, Internships, or Remote Programs without Access to an LIU Campus

  • In-State (New York): The Center for Healthy Living offers mental health counseling via telehealth.
  • Out-of-State: Due to licensing regulations, Center for Healthy Living counselors cannot provide counseling services outside of New York State. However, staff will assist students in connecting with local mental health resources for additional support.
  • Access to Another LIU Campus: Students who are closer to another LIU campus may utilize mental health services available at that location.
  • Additional Health Resources: Northwell Health—GoHealth, the University's health services partner, provides LIU students with access to telehealth and health resources across the United States.
