What is Roc Nation Summer Academy?
The Roc Nation Summer Academy encompasses a series of one-week-long camps for students ages 14-17 on LIU’s Brooklyn campus. The Academy offers concentrations in Music Technology, Vocal Performance, and Sports Management. Students study with world-renowned artists, athletes, and industry leaders.
Students may attend either as day students or resident students.
Students may attend for one week, for multiple weeks of the same concentration, or for multiple weeks with different concentrations.

How do I register for the Academy?

How long is each Academy session?
Each session lasts one week, and each concentration is offered at least twice. Daily schedules typically begin at 9:00 AM and conclude at 5:00 PM. Resident students participate in evening activities daily, like attending a basketball game or concert. Day students are invited to attend evening activities with guardian consent at no added cost.
Do students gain college credit through the Academy?
At this time, the programs are not eligible for college credit.
What is the cost of attending the Roc Nation Summer Academy?
Academy Tuition is $850 per week. For students interested in attending more than one session, there is an opportunity to receive $300 tuition savings through our “Combine & Save” option.
For resident students, on-campus housing is an additional $550 per week.
Day students may participate in daily lunches for $60 per week.
Are meals included in the cost of tuition?
For resident students, breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be provided daily. Unless participating in an offsite activity, students enjoy all-you-care-to-eat dining in the Shark Bike Residential Dining Hall.
Day students may either bring a packed lunch or participate in daily lunches at an added cost of $60 per week.

What is the Brooklyn campus like?
LIU’s Brooklyn campus is located just steps away from the Barclays Center; top arts venues like BAM; and the hip restaurants boutiques, and cafes of Fort Greene. Resident students reside in the residence hall on campus in single or double-occupancy dormitory-style housing. Will the Academy accommodate roommate requests?
Yes, while we cannot guarantee placement until the week prior to the Academy, we are happy to consider roommate requests.
What is security like on-campus?
LIU Brooklyn is a gated campus, closed to the public. The school was designated the safest campus in New York City by the Daily Beast. The Office of Public Safety has a base desk on campus and provides safety and security services by foot, 24 hours a day 365 days a year. Public Safety Officers on the LIU Brooklyn campus are licensed by the State of New York and are trained, certified and registered pursuant to the New York State Security Guard Act of 1992. The Department of Public Safety is committed to providing a safe and secure environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors on the LIU Brooklyn campus. What are the policies regarding residing on campus?
Day and resident Academy students are held to LIU’s Student Code of Conduct, viewable at the following link: /enrollment-services/financial-aid/policies/student-code-of-conduct. Every student is responsible for knowledge of the University policies and procedures. Failure to adhere to such policies may result in disciplinary action, including immediate dismissal from the Academy.
Students residing overnight must remain on campus throughout the program unless prior written approval is provided by the student’s guardian.
Unless participating in an Academy-sponsored event, resident students must be checked into the Conolly Hall by 8:00 PM. Quiet hours begin at 9:30 PM. Lights out will begin at 10:30 PM.
There will be Roc Nation Summer Academy Resident Assistants and additional LIU staff, including an on-call Student Life staff member, residing in Conolly Hall.

The nearest airports to the LIU Brooklyn campus are John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) and LaGuardia Airport (LGA).
