What is an upper-division undergraduate program?
The LIU Riverhead’s upper-division undergraduate program was developed for students who have earned an associate degree or have completed the equivalent of two or more years of undergraduate study. The following is a list of the criteria and assessments used for admissions to the upper-division undergraduate programs:

• Have completed around 60 credits of liberal arts and sciences course work and/or an associate degree
• Have a grade point average of 2.75 or higher, on a 4.0 point scale
• Submit a letter of recommendation from a professional in the field of education or a former professor
• On-campus interview

Is LIU Riverhead affiliated with Suffolk County Community College?
LIU Riverhead is proud of its partnership with Suffolk County Community College (SCCC). Our upper-division undergraduate programs in and are offered in conjunction with SCCC and provide a flexible transfer of credits from all SCCC associate degree programs. Students complete their freshman and sophomore years at SCCC earning an associate degree (A.A., A.S. or A.A.S.) and benefit from a seamless transfer of credits applied toward the B.S. in Childhood Education or the B.A. in Communication Studies-New Media at LIU Riverhead. They then pursue their junior and senior years of the B.S. degree at LIU at Riverhead, which is located on SCCC’s Eastern Campus in Riverhead. Upon completion of 60 credits (including the associate degree), the student is awarded the Bachelor of Science in Childhood Education or the B.A. in Communication Studies-New Media. SCCC students benefit from a streamlined admissions process, access to transfer and academic advising and a seamless transfer of credits toward their bachelor’s degree. SCCC alumni are automatically eligible for a 40% tuition discount scholarship upon acceptance to LIU. SCCC freshman and sophomores interested in transferring to 91泡芙 for their junior year are welcome meet with LIU academic advisers at any time at the beginning of the SCCC studies.
