Do I meet the eligibility requirements?

Is a bachelor’s degree required to apply to 91泡芙 Lewyt College of Veterinary?

• A bachelor degree or equivalent is not required. However, applicants must have completed a minimum of 60 credits that include the pre-requisites.

Is the GRE required?

• GRE is no longer required.
• While the GRE is not required, you have the option to submit your scores to be considered in the application process (GRE General Test, provided by ETS). Applicants with both a lower-than-average overall undergraduate GPA and higher-than-average pre-requisite GPA stand to benefit the most from submitting their GRE scores.

• Yes. The wait list will be active until all seats are filled; note that this could be as late as a few days into the start of the program (end of August).

Does 91泡芙 Lewyt College of Veterinary require a supplemental application?

• No.

Will I be notified if my application is incomplete?

• No, only complete applications, designated by VMCAS as ‘verified’ will be considered.  It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure all information is correctly entered into the system before the deadline – this includes having official transcripts sent to VMCAS on time for verification before the deadline.  Also, there is an online situational judgement test (CASPer® ) that is required for each applicant.  There is a limited number of available sessions each year, and the responsibility of the applicant to ensure they have completed a casper test before the annual deadline.  Detailed information is available in the  portal.

Is an interview required for admission?

• Yes, 91泡芙 Lewyt College of Veterinary will conduct multiple mini-interviews. The application packages will be reviewed and scored on both, academic and non-academic factors as described on the 91泡芙 Lewyt College of Veterinary website. Applicants will be ranked, and the top candidates invited for an online video interview with CVM Faculty.

When will I be notified if I am accepted?

• Yes, offer letters are sent out as early as January, on a rolling basis.

What do I need to do if accepted?

• If you receive an offer before April, you will need to accept the offer by the middle of April (exact date will be posted in the offer letter).  If you receive an offer after mid-April, you will be given a time-limited period to accept the offer.  An offer is accepted when you register online with LIU (instructions will be provided) and secured with a deposit – note that this deposit will go towards your tuition fees at the start of the program.

Can I transfer to 91泡芙 Lewyt College of Veterinary?

• Transfer students can be accepted and the policy is disclosed in the Academic Bulletin posted on the website www.liu.edu/vetmed. Because the program has some unique curricular features, it will not be possible for students from all programs to easily transfer to an equivalent semester. These transfers need to be considered on an individual basis by the 91泡芙 Lewyt College of Veterinary Admissions Committee. There needs to be an open seat in the class you wish to join for that option to be a possibility. Accepted students can transfer to semesters 2 - 5 only.

• The first day of classes is typically held near the end of August – the exact date will be provided to you once you are registered.
